Lusine Yernjakyan

Lusine Yernjakyan joined the Chamber Theatre in 2007 as a director. Since June 6, 2016, she has held the position of director of the “Yerevan Chamber State Theatre.” Since 2013, she has also been teaching acting and directing at the theatrical department of Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema.
Lusine Yernjakyan began her directing career during her student years. Her early productions, such as “Sonata for Cello” and “The Marriage of Figaro” at Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema, gained attention at festivals like “2007-X”, “Theatre-X”, “HighFest”, “Duet”, and others. Her works have also been presented at international open drama festivals.
In 2009, Lusine Yernjakyan presented her diploma work – the play “What Difference Does It Make?” (based on L. Gersh’s “Butterflies on Freedom”), which is still part of the chamber theatre’s repertoire and remains popular. In 2011, this play was featured at the “Theatres of the World” festival in Los Angeles, USA.
Lusine Yernjakyan actively participates in various events, such as the Moscow contest of young directors within the framework of the International Theatre Festival named after Chekhov, the World Congress of the International Theatre Institute (UNESCO) in 2014, and the annual “Artavazd” Award.
She has also been involved in various theatre projects, working as a costume designer and scenographer in theatrical and film projects such as “Enchanted Ball”, “Scotch and Whiskey”, “Romeo & Juliet”, “B14/27” (directed by Zhora Martirosyan), and others.
She has directed plays with students and young actors from Ara Yernjakyan’s studio, including “Anter Ground”, “Onegin 313”, “Show No. 3”, and others. In 2019, Lusine Yernjakyan presented the play “Romeo & Juliet” at the XVI International Theatre Festival named after A.P. Chekhov in Poland.
